How To Live Free Of Overwhelm

I used to wake up every morning feeling so overwhelmed. I believe it started soon after I became self-employed. Suddenly, I'm not just going to work to do whatever I'm supposed to do and get a salary; I AM THE ONE WHO MUST MAKE SURE that I am proactive and creative in order to create my own income.

It wasn't only when it was related to money. It was also before I was traveling, getting ready to do an event, before my mom would come to visit me in the US.

I've learned a lot through years of experience about being overwhelmed.

Overwhelm

One thing I've learned was that overwhelm is a habit, a pattern that we can all stop repeating when we look into what is causing us to go through life, repeating it over and over again.

It's a habit that slowly but surely has sucked your joy, your vitality, and your energy.

It leaves you helpless and powerless, feeling like you do not have control over your circumstances. Your circumstances take over and start running your life. Some are wonderful circumstances, like raising a family; some can be more challenging, like taking care of a sick parent.

It depletes you not only emotionally and mentally, but also physically. And it drains your adrenals; it can also lead to adrenal fatigue, headaches, allergies, stomach aches, and so many other physical issues.

Not only do you have to deal with the same circumstances, but on top of that you are not feeling good and then it all becomes even more challenging.

The habit of being overwhelmed can paint your relationships blue and you can become indifferent and numb or when you do have energy, it can make you angry, frustrated, and unpleasant. And if you are single, it makes you less attractive. Therefore, overwhelmed equals stress and stress kills attraction.

If you are in a relationship, overwhelm kills your sex and intimacy. You may still have a sex life, but you may not be as engaged. You just do it or fake it or force yourself, but this is NOT what you signed up for.

You are exhausted.

Your being overwhelmed is a symptom of something deeper. Don't buy into the excuse of your circumstances. There is always a way to navigate our circumstances with peace, assertiveness, and contentment.

It's inner work, it takes time, but you owe it to yourself to take the first step and heal yourself from the habit of being overwhelmed.

Reach out to someone that you trust, that you feel can help you break through this pattern so you can liberate yourself to live a happy, healthy, satisfying life filled with all the goodness that you wish for yourself.
