On August of 2008 I got married.
It was the happiest day of my life (thus far).

As I entered the garden where our wedding took place, dressed in the white beautiful dress I was dreaming to wear for many years, my whole being was flooded with bliss. I enjoyed every moment of the meaningful and spiritual event and besides the fact that we didn’t get married on a beach (a part of me really wanted to do that, but I didn’t want to take the chance of freezing on my wedding day or not having the sun shining) it was so perfect.
One thing that was not on our to do-list was our honeymoon. Maybe it was because it took us more than a year to plan our wedding, we didn’t feel like having another project on our plate. I can tell you that I will do whatever it takes to get away from overwhelm. And so I did.
So we took a two-night stay close by, just to rest from…everything. We did not define those two nights as our honeymoon though. As time passed by we started do find ourselves half-joking, half-serious about the fact that we didn’t have a honeymoon and we kind of made a mental note that ONE DAY….one day we will.
And we all know how it is, don’t we? Putting something out there, keeping it in a dreamy mode, not taking action towards it (even if the action is visualizing or writing affirmations) will most likely not make the dream come true.
About two months ago I picked up again the book The Passion Test by Janet Bray Attwood & Chris Attwood.
.jpg)
I started to read it a few years ago and put it aside. I can’t recall what made me want to pick it up again, but I did. And I am glad I did (just keep reading and you’ll know why).
One of the exercises that Janet & Chris recommend in the book is writing five dreams of yours in a very specific way (page 38). Since I know that doing this simple exercise works so beautifully, I immediately pulled out my stack of 3 x 5 cards and eagerly wrote 5 of my dreams on 4 different cards and placed one on my nightstand, one on my office desk, one on the refrigerator and one on my make-up mirror. I looked at the cards periodically feeling that there is something that helps me to stay connected on a daily basis with my dreams even if I am not taking any major actions yet.
A month later, my husband and I thought of taking a short vacation, maybe a cruise for 3-4 nights, or something else that involved the sun, beach and relaxation. As I was starting to research online I quickly realized that 3-4 days would not be enough to relax. The delicious pictures of the beautiful beaches made me think that even a week might not be enough.
So after about two days of searching, finding the same deals through different sites in the Caribbean, Mexico and other place that were pretty exciting BUT not for this trip, I noticed that I was searching for things that I didn’t really want. I had a dream. But it was so dreamy and so “away from me” in my experience that I didn’t even think of achieving it. And then it hit me; If we are about to go for longer and spend more money than we originally thought to, maybe it’s time to book that desired honeymoon?…
So I dared to punch the key words “All Inclusive Vacations” “Kauai”.
And here it was. Wow!! As I was looking at the images and the options, I felt a big YES. I felt that I was drawn to it, I felt that this is it. So I immediately contacted our travel agent on board (Doug Kerr from Sunward Adventures), he was able to adjust our flight and there we were, three weeks away from our dreamy honeymoon.
I was so eager to share this with you that on our way back from Kauai I got my beloved laptop out, which I touched only once during the trip to check emails and each night to download all the amazing pictures, so we have room on our camera to make new ones the next day. And I got to tell you that as much as I love my laptop, it was so nice to take some time off…:-)
The reason that I was so eager to share this with you is because there is something that I realized (again) that might, just might make a difference for you too. I can’t (and in fact won’t) keep the good stuff a secret. So if you have something that is sitting there in the back of your mind, and you want it, but you have kind of suppressed it because you think it is not achievable, or you don’t have the funds, or it’s not the right timing, all of the above (or similar) can get out of your way, IF YOU’LL JUST FUEL YOUR DREAM, in whichever way works for you at this time.
For me what worked (and very fast I must say) is writing the 5 dreams according to The Passion Test. It was a desire put in motion, and without much pushing or pressing, things have been aligning themselves in such a way that a dream became a reality.
Sometimes I meet people that tell me that they have tried exercises like this but it didn’t work for them. So if sometimes that happens to you, here is a BIG TIP that can make a huge difference for you:
| Make Sure That You Do Not Sabotage Your Dreams |
Meaning, once you are writing them down, don’t engage yourself in thoughts or conversations that do not support your dream. Like: “…but I have no clue how I’ll afford it” or “…yea, I really want it, but who knows if it’s ever going to happen”, you see what I mean?
Simply, S-I-M-P-L-Y do one step towards it, a step that you feel comfortable with. Which might be taking a few minutes to think about what you want, what are your 5 dreams. And I am sure that The Passion Test will inspire you to do that.
My husband and I have decided to put a video together about out fabulous, wonderful, enjoyable, romantic, fun (and a couple of other things) trip. But it’ll will take us some time to do that…so please come back and visit again in a couple of weeks and see if it’s up here.
Once the video is ready I’ll add it to this blogpost.
If you want to enjoy more of our pictures, CLICK HERE, and please leave me a comment on that page, so I’ll know you stopped by.
I would love if you’d share with me how you were touched, assuming you were
by this post. Especially about what you are going to do as a result of reading it or, if you have visited a place that you were very excited about, a dream that became a reality for you I am sure I will get inspired by your sharing and who knows, I might add that to my dream list.
And meanwhile,
Aloha.

Hi Sigal,
Congratulations on realizing your dreams. It certainly sounds as though you found the key and yes, you are so right. You won’t ever realize your dreams if you don’t take that first step. Things don’t always happen according to our schedule but they won’t happen at all if we do nothing. Thanks for this post.
Thank you,Thank you,Thank you for posting this beautiful and motivating article Sigal! While reading I realized one of my dreams I have not dared to write because of my seizure disorder. Really, it’s basically fear. This dream is to travel Kauai yet I have held myself back. You have given me motivation to write down this and other dreams. I have faith that when the time comes to travel, all will be well with me.

Sigal,
That is awesome! Glad that you were able to make your dreams a reality. And very quickly at that.
It is amazing how our eyes open up when we are looking for something more.

Sigal-
Very inspiring post and inspiring pictures as well. So glad you got to go on the honeymoon you always wanted to and what an amazing story about how it all came about. I am going to take your advice and “not sabotage my dreams.” Thanks for the great post.

Thanks, very inspirational article. I think dreams are wonderful, but I’m glad to see you also advocate actually taking steps toward making them happen. I’ve seen so many people put together lovely little dream / vision boards and then sit back and wait. Eventually becoming discouraged because none of their dreams are coming true.
Sigal, glad you made your dream come through! Hawaii is such a great place! My husband and I just got back from 2 weeks visiting Yellowstone National Park, Arches National Park, Craters of the Moon and lots more. We had an awesome time as well! … We do a 2 week vacation each year and have gone to places each of us has wanted to visit. Something to look forward to! Thanks for sharing your story and pictures. So happy for you both!
Hi Sigal
You are a great person and you give me hope
for my own dreams.
I am going to do what you did with pictures on my
desktop that it’ll remind me every day of my dreams. This is one of my Goals for the week.
I am going to look at your pictures right now what I see
here is WOW I am so glad for you that you did had your
honeymoon at last LOL
Regards
Theuns
Dear Sigal, What a wonderful dreamy story. I loved it that your dream came true and that it was wonderful and perfect. I will have to put my dreams on paper and keep them before me! Life is too short and we must try and live it to the fullest. First I have to figure out what they REALLY are. ![]()
Bless you!
Lynn
Hi Sigal,
You are a beautiful bride. And thank you for sharing your photos–you have some great ones.
Maybe it’s a little like the “dream box”–I have an on-going list of things that I want to accomplish. Sometimes circumstances allow for one of the ideas to come together–like it was meant to be! This seems to be how your honeymoon came together. You were thinking about it, and the right set of circumstances came together, enough that you were able to pull the trip together. And you created happy memories. How wonderful.
I have been without a sofa now for a whole year, so it has been on my mind. So as circumstances brought about a way to fund it and the marketplace had the right deal, I was able to bring my livingroom together, and it feels so great!
Needless to say, I loved your post!
Linda
Hi Sigal,
Thank you for the great story! My husband and I read the Passion Test about five years ago and this made me want to read it again. We love Kauai and all the Hawaiian Islands…they’re like sisters, related to each other but each is different and beautiful!
Congratulations for realizing your dream of having a romantic and special honeymoon!
