One Simple Tip That Can Help With Sugar-Cravings

What I'm about to share with you is just the tip of the iceberg, but we all need to start somewhere, right?

There is a great essential oil blend that I like using that can support you when it comes to sugar-cravings, weight issues, and a few more things. It is a metabolic blend.

What's in it and how can you benefit from it?

This blend contains five wonderful essential oils that each play an important role, especially when we are dealing with sugar cravings, but it also helps with other issues as well.

When combining these essential oils into one single blend, they target very specific issues related to cravings, metabolism, mood, appetite, and they even address emotional issues, like feelings of worthlessness, feeling ugly and thinking that in order to look a certain way, one needs to deny themselves pleasure and stick to a strict diet. 

Here are the five essential oils and the different ways they support us.

Grapefruit—High in limonene, it helps to control appetite, uplift mood, and provides a clarifying effect to the mind. Grapefruit is also renowned for its cleansing and purifying properties and is frequently used in skin care for its ability to promote the appearance of clear, healthy-looking skin. Grapefruit can also support a healthy metabolism.

Cinnamon—Supports healthy glucose metabolism. It supports healthy metabolic function and helps maintain a healthy immune system, especially when seasonal threats are high. Cinnamon is frequently used in mouth rinses and chewing gums.

Lemon—Elevates mood and encourages healthy hydration when used in water. When taken internally, lemon provides cleansing, detoxifying, and digestive benefits. It also supports healthy respiratory function. When diffused, lemon is very uplifting and energizing and has been shown to help improve mood.

Ginger—Supports healthy metabolic processes. Studies have been conducted on ginger for its common effect on joint health. However, ginger is best known as a digestive aid and for helping to ease occasional indigestion and nausea. Ginger essential oil can also be applied topically or inhaled to help reduce feelings of nausea.

Peppermint—Helps to curb appetite and reduce cravings. Peppermint also helps to alleviate occasional stomach upset and promotes healthy respiratory function. It cools, freshens, and sooths muscles and tention.

How do I use this Metbolic Blend?

When I started with this blend I was advised to place 5 drops in a glass of water. So I did that and I felt blah…. it was unbearable, it almost didn't make me feel good. So I put it aside. It was just too strong. I was a bit disappointed because I really wanted to enjoy the benefits of this blend.

A few months ago, I attended a class and in the class I've learned that there is a better way to go. I'd like to share it with you so you don't throw the baby out with the bath water and you'd get to enjoy the benefit of this unique blend.

drinking waterStart with one drop in a glass of water. Slowly, every few days increase to two drops, then three drops and so on, with each glass of water. Listen to yourself. If you feel that it is too intense for you to jump to the next level of two or three drops in each glass of water, then stick with one drop for a while. In time, you will be able to increase the amount of drops. In any case, the maximum should be no more than 5 drops in one glass of water.
You can also start with one drop in a whole pitcher. If one drop is even too much to start with in a glass of water.

Why would it feel like it's "too much"?

There may be a few reasons:

One – The lemon in this blend is a detoxifier. If your body is loaded with toxins, then too much lemon (in an essential oils format which is very concentrated) may cause too many toxins to be released at once. That's like putting a muffler in your face and expecting to feel good. We don't want to release too many toxins too quickly. We want to do it gradually. The process of releasing weight (if that's your goal) will still work. Gradual is always better than the extreme.

Two – These essential oils are very potent and their quality is very high. We only need a very small amount to make a difference. At the beginning, when we start with essential oils (good ones, I'm not talking about the majority of the ones that are out there that you should not even dare to consume internally), our bodies are not accustomed to consume this kind of pure substance, our bodies are normally more toxic. So it may take a few weeks, sometimes even months to adjust.

If you make sure you use this blend gradually and build up, you will feel good while you are working on your health goal.

With sugar cravings and other addictions like coffee or sodas, this blend works very fast. At least, this is my experience.

How many times a day should you use the Metabolic Blend?

Since it has peppermint in it and peppermint is invigorating, my best recommendation is to stop drinking it in your water a few hours (5 or 6) before you are getting into bed. Unless, you know that you need to be driving and you need to be more more alert for a reason. You just want to make sure that you are able to easily fall asleep and stay asleep throughout the night.

What about the grapefruit?

If you are taking any medication, you may have been told by your physician to avoid grapefruit in any way, shape or form. That is true! Grapefruit contains a chemical composition and most juices will have them, too. However, this grapefruit essential oil, I'm comfortable recommending, is made from the rind of the grapefruit and therefore DOES NOT contain that chemical composition that conflicts with medication. So it is safe even if you are taking medications.

What if I get the Metabolic Blend and I just don't like the flavor?

Yep, that's a possibility. There are a few other wonderful options where you won't even taste it and yet will enjoy great results. Here they are:

1. You can rub the oil on the area where you wish to release the weight. If you are working on your sugar cravings just rub in on your belly a few times a day. Once again, because of the peppermint, which is cooling, you may feel a slight cooling sensation, so be aware of that. There is also the cinnamon, which is on the hot side, so both together on the belly will feel a bit like muscles are burning when you work out. Which is great!! I love this sensation. It makes me feel that it is working. If you want to mellow the sensation, just add a carrier oil like, fractionated coconut oil, jojoba oil, or grape seed oil. So you rub the carrier oil on first, then place 3-4 drops of Metabolic Blend, and then rub it all in.

2. You can place the oil in an empty capsule and swallow it. Yep, you take an empty capsule (you can buy them in a health-food store or order them together when you order the metabolic blend). Start with one drop once and build up to twice a day and then build up, like with the water method above. After two weeks or so, add two drops to each capsule twice a day and so forth (and remember, I'm here to support you). It is best to take with food, at the beginning, until your body can handle it better and then you may be able to take it without food.


3. Rub oil with or without carrier oil on the bottom of your feet. I prefer to use carrer oil. The essential oil evaporates quickly and the carrier oil will carry the essential oil deeper. The method of application through the bottom of the feet is fabulous because by doing that, you are able to affect the whole body through the feet.

Consistency is Key!!
Do This Rub 3-5 times a day, every day for
a period of time and start noticing
what is shifting for you.

Notice your relationship with food, hunger levels,
satisfaction,  mood, what kinds of food you are
drawn to, and which ones you do not want.
