The Formula For Getting More Of What You Want – Part 14 out of a 16-part series.

Take a moment and be honest with yourself. When you wake up every morning, how do you find yourself? Besides knowing that you are alive?
If you are not feeling happy and grateful to wake up, then this article could make a positive shift in not only your life, but your health and your happiness, too.

Experiencing Gratitude On A Daily Basis
Is A Key Ingredient For A Happy And Healthy Life.
You Cannot Be Ungrateful
And Also Be Happy At The Same Time.

sunshine and opportunities

I’m not going to claim that I have the formula all figured out and nailed down, BUT from everything I’ve learned, this is what is coming up for me repeatedly, over and over again.

Until You Can Manage What You Have,
The Universe Will Not Send You More.

More time, more money, more energy, more health, more relationships, and more free time will not come into your life until you can manage what you already have.
We must make room and clear space so that we get more of what we want, or better.
So, according to the above formula, if you want better health, you must manage the health that you currently have for it to improve.

simple things to be grateful for

When you think about it, it is actually very simple.
So for example, if you have an allergy and you wish to be free of it; to be able to breathe freely, to travel, to sleep well, and to enjoy good food; how could you possibly start making those changes?

By doing the following steps:

1. Start by changing your orientation to your symptom (in this case the allergy).
2. Make changes that will support your healing.
3. Get help from a professional you trust
so you can manage the symptom, get relief, and then work towards freeing yourself from it.

And now let’s get super-clear on the three steps above:
1. Changing your orientation to your symptom.
Changing your orientation starts with noticing where you presently are with your symptom. If you talk about your symptom often, complain about it, and look at it as if it is a problem (I’m not saying it’s not, but the more you give it power, the more power it has), you are basically feeding the symptom.

I don’t want this to sound like a power game. It’s not. Your symptom is here to show you something. Complaining or dwelling on it won’t help you experience any change in it. But it may move you closer to a point of frustration where you’ll find yourself being so fed up with talking about it over and over again, like a broken record, that you’ll take action. Though, this might take many years.

Even though it is not fun going through the pain, ache, discomfort, emotional mess, or difficulty of your symptom, in any given moment you can always choose to stop, take a deep breath, and change your point of view.

And the point of view that I will recommend you choose is one of gratitude. Remember that I mentioned earlier that until you can manage what you have been given, you will not receive more. When you are grateful for what you have, you will receive more into your life.

I know it’s challenging at times when you are consumed with your daily life or a challenging reality. I really do know what it’s like. Yet, the present moment IS a gift and you have the power in your hands to make the shift to be grateful for what you do have.

If you are taking me up on this “offer” of moving into gratitude, you want to make sure that you are:

A. Not allowing the thought “yes, but…I don’t have this and that yet…” to creep into your mind.

B. That you are connecting with your emotions and really feel yourself being grateful for whatever it is you presently have and not take it for granted.

C. That you feel grateful more often than you do complaining about or feeding your “problems.”

2. Make changes that will support your healing.

It may be that you will need to make diet changes, changes to your environment, end certain relationships, let go of certain habits that hold you back and manifest as a symptom. You may need to leave your job and get a new one. There may be many directions you’ll need to take. Your job is to find out which one it is and to take steps towards freedom.

If you do not implement the right changes, there is no reason for the pain, the problem, the challenge, or the difficulty to go away. After all, there is a reason why it showed up in your life.

You may need to educate yourself and learn more about how to free yourself from the physical or emotional pain you are going through, and you should do that. That’s what I did; I took things into my own hands. I didn’t stop where others (even doctors) told me to stop; I searched for my own answers. I found them, moved on, and as a result, not only did I heal myself, but I also helped others to heal as well.

So in a way, my own journey led me to find answers that I could share with others. Think of one or two changes you’d like to make and start implementing them right away. And if you need some ideas, leave me a comment below with what’s going on for you and I will offer a few suggestions as to where to start.

3. Get help from a professional you trust so you can manage the symptom, get relief, and then work towards freeing yourself from it.

Look, we all know that it can be more challenging to do things on our own. We have those blind spots; some of them are buried deep in our subconscious mind so we do not even see them.
It is OK to have someone to guide you and give you a hand along the way. Find the right person for you.
